Acts 29 Network Removes Co-founder Mark Driscoll and Mars Hill Church From Membership (UPDATED)

In a stunning move, the Acts 29 Network leadership has removed network co-founder and Mars Hill Church lead pastor Mark Driscoll from the organization’s membership. I obtained a letter from several Acts 29 pastors which was sent to Driscoll and Mars Hill Church removing Driscoll and the church as members of the network, as well as calling on Driscoll to step down due to a pattern of complaints from Acts 29 pastors. Mark Driscoll was instrumental in founding the Acts 29 Network and has been president of the group. According to the letter, the information will soon be posted on the Acts 29 website. The letter is below:

Mark,

As the Board of Acts 29, we are grateful to God for the leadership, courage, and generosity of both you and Mars Hill in not only founding the network but also sustaining it through the transition to this board three years ago. The very act of giving away your authority over the network was one of humility and grace, and for that we are grateful.

Over the past three years, our board and network have been the recipients of countless shots and dozens of fires directly linked to you and what we consider ungodly and disqualifying behavior. We have both publicly and internally tried to support and give you the benefit of the doubt, even when multiple pastors in our network confirmed this behavior. In response, we leaned on the Mars Hill Board of Advisors & Accountability to take the lead in dealing with this matter. But we no longer believe the BoAA is able to execute the plan of reconciliation originally laid out. Ample time has been given for repentance, change, and restitution, with none forthcoming.

We now have to take another course of action. Based on the totality of the circumstances, we are now asking you to please step down from ministry for an extended time and seek help. Consequently, we also feel that we have no alternative but to remove you and Mars Hill from membership in Acts 29. Because you are the founder of Acts 29 and a member, we are naturally associated with you and feel that this association discredits the network and is a major distraction.

We tell you this out of love for you, Mars Hill, Acts 29, and most significantly, the cause of Christ, and we would be irresponsible and deeply unloving not to do so in a clear and unequivocal manner. Again, we want you to know that we are eternally thankful for what you as a man and Mars Hill as a church have meant to our network. However, that cannot dissuade us from action. Instead, it gives added significance and importance to our decision.

We hope and pray that you see this decision as the action of men who love you deeply and want you to walk in the light—for your good, the good of your family, and the honor of your Savior. Shortly after sending this, we will be informing the members of Acts 29, your Board of Advisors and Accountability, and your elders, as well as putting out a public statement on the Acts 29 website. It brings us no joy to move forward in this direction, and we trust that the Lord will be at work in all of this.

JUST A TASTE!!!!!!!!!!!

MEXICO

I was born in Mexico but until this past year.....I did not have a strong bond to Mexico....now I truly say I have family in Mexico (please dont let this seem to diminish my biological family that I pray for daily and love for giving me life). I am just so blessed and thankful for LILIA and ARTURO and the KIDS KINGDOM ministry. I love them and adopt them as mu Mexican family!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love that this is truly a family and that my family can serve together every month here!!!!!!!!!
I love the opportunities and blessings that we receive from serving here!!!!!!!!!
I love these kids and this family!!!!!!!!!!
I have learned so much and my faith is deepened just knowing them.
I want to learn more spanish and preach more to these kids.

Senegal

I recently came home from a life changing trip to SENEGAL WEST AFRICA. I was able to travel with 5 amazing men and women of God to a village called Mbadatte, where I met the most faithful men and women of God. I was constantly humbled at their level of faith and their commitment to LIVE for GOD and share at all costs the LOVE of Jesus.

The pastors name was DIAGA KITAL. HE is a worldchanger.
I met a missions team the EEBT who are comprised on mostly young men who are serving their people inSenegal going to villages that do not yet know the GOSPEL.
I met many missionaries there that had been in Senegal 20 plus years serving the LORD and doing the mundane daily tasks that end up making eternal impact in peoples lives. The Gruddas and Alice..
I also got to be in the presence of a Wycliff missionary who spent her whole life trasnslating the Bible into Serer.....She says 7 more years yet to go....so almost 30 years just to get the WORD into someones hand in their language.....what passions and commitment....wow!
I met and works alongside a passionate husband and wife...who are daily seeking God and making Him known...their love for GOD was so infectious...contagious....vibrant....exhilarating....encouraging....fierce...excellent...and inspiring...YES!!!!!!!!

Etienne a man of many talents humbling himself just to do anything small for the LORD and HIS GLORY.
Awa, a eautiful African woman with a radiant smile who loves the Lord and loves kids and telling them daily that God loves them....

So many more.....these are just a few.....

A village chief..who came to spend 4 days with us...a Christian ...with a village of Muslims...who has only 5 believers in the whole village...coming to serve us...as our translator...wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BLESSED....SO BLESSED to See the KINGDOM in action!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!

Missions Blog

I wanted to start a blog dedicated to all things missions. My heart is missions. My passion is to see all nations come to saving knowledge of His love and salvation. If people asked me that I am......what I do? I am a MISSIONARY. I want to see the WORLD and everytime I have the opportunity to travel I love it. I love to see all the peoples of the world. God is so magnificent. He has created so much variety of culture and language. I recently came back from Senegal West Africa. I was fascinated by all the traditions, culture, way  of life there that is so unique from my daily life...and YET once GOD was in the picture.....there really wasnt that much differences between Senegelase and American. WOW!!!!!!!!God is GOOD.

Also in my personal life and in our family life we sense a HUGE wave of change....God is going to ask us very shortly to STEP OUT OF THE BOAT with FULL FAITH.....and I want to prepare my heart for these future steps of faith.

This blog will contain my thoughts, my prayers, my research, my inspirations......it will also contain quotes and stories from admired missionaries and mission leaders. This blog will also be filled with spot lights on different ways people...simple people...like me...can be connected to the GREAT COMMISSION...we are all called to it and we all have a part to play. I want to help people find out their purpose in missions and be missional in their daily life.

I will have highlighted local and global mission opportunities......I will highlight and research mission conferences and resources to teach and build up missional families, churches, and individuals.

I will also try to combine my current seminary training....and as I read verses that capture the Father's mission heart....i will include those for encouragement to continue to press on to a life a missions and living for things BIGGER than ourselves...
